TickSafety.com is the national tick safety education & awareness program of Center for Wilderness Safety, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to backcountry, wilderness & outdoor safety. Every day, we work hard to educate folks and spread awareness about ticks, tick safety, as well as to guide people to best tick bite removal and prevention practices.

Adult Female Gulf Coast TicksWith interactive resources like our Tick Safety Hotline (703) 828-4343, Facebook Page and Facebook Group we’re educating and empowering more and more people to take appropriate, effective action before and after a tick bite.

In 2020 alone, our Tick Safety Hotline received well over 7,000 calls and requests for tick identification, including ticks from nearly every U.S. state, Canada, Europe, and even some from Africa!

These reports, collected since 2014 are providing critical tick surveillance data and allow us to assess annual and seasonal trends while we provide every submission with a tailored, time-sensitive disease risk assessment plus information on tick prevention and more.

We consider this free-to-the-public program to be one of our most important endeavors, and we need your help this year more than ever to raise the funds to keep it going. Our LiveChat and other communication license fees and intern stipends alone cost about $5,000 each year.

Now more than ever, we’re receiving reports that ticks are in more places than ever before. So, how much would you spend to make sure that your family, friends, or even you have a go-to expert resource for every tick encounter? We ask you to consider a tax-deductible one-time or recurring contribution today.
